Hoag hospital’s rates for preop beta blockers, anti-lipids and beta blockers on discharge achieve top 10% performance. Raney Zusman Medical Group performed less isolated CABG procedures at Hoag Memorial Hospital than the STS average of 694 hospitals that submitted data to STS, landing in the 51st percentile. This is in part due to the fact that there are only 3 surgeons performing cardiac surgery at Hoag hospital, and other institutions may have more surgeons on staff. Hoag performed more valve and CABG procedures than the STS average, landing above the 80th percentile for both. Higher volumes are desired because they are related to better outcomes.
